Lead Follow-Up

Also called: follow-up tracking, sales follow-up, follow up reminders

Lead follow-up is the practice of contacting a sales lead one or more times after the initial touch, on a schedule that keeps the lead engaged without being annoying — typically a structured sequence of calls, emails, and DMs.

Why it matters

Industry research consistently finds that the majority of sales close on the 5th to 12th touch, while most reps stop after one or two. The gap is almost always operational: the rep can't see who they followed up with, when, or what they said, so they default to giving up. A follow-up system fixes the visibility problem and the close rate fixes itself.

Example

You quoted a lead 8 days ago and they went silent. A follow-up tracker shows `last touch: emailed quote 8d ago, next follow-up: today, temperature: warm`. You send one short text, they reply, deal moves.

How Lead Sorted handles it

Lead Sorted's Today queue is the follow-up workflow. Each logged touch sets the next follow-up date with one click. Hot leads with no recent contact float to the top. The Follow-Ups page shows everything overdue, due today, and coming up this week.
